2 Chronicles Kabanata 18 서론
Adam Clarke's Commentary and Critical Notes on the Bible
Jehoshaphat joins affinity with Ahab, king of Israel, 2 Chronicles 18:1, 2 Chronicles 18:2; who invites him to assist him in the war against the Syrians, to which Jehoshaphat agrees, 2 Chronicles 18:3. They consult the prophets concerning the success of the war; and all, except Micaiah, promise Ahab victory, 2 Chronicles 18:4-17. Micaiah relates his vision concerning the lying spirit in the mouth of Ahab's prophets, 2 Chronicles 18:18-22. Zedekiah, a false prophet, opposes Micaiah; and Micaiah is put in prison, 2 Chronicles 18:23-27. Both the kings go against the Syrians; the confederate armies are defeated, and the king of Israel slain, 2 Chronicles 18:28-31.
XVIII.
JEHOSHAPHAT MAKES AFFINITY WITH AHAB, AND TAKES PART IN THE SYRIAN WAR AT RAMOTH-GLLEAD.
Comp. 1Kings 22:2-35. Only the introduction of the narrative (2Chronicles 18:1-2) differs from that of Kings—a change necessitated by the fact that the chronicler is writing the history, not of Ahab, but of Jehoshaphat.

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible
2Ch 18:1-34.
JEHOSHAPHAT AND AHAB GO AGAINST RAMOTH-GILEAD.
The present chapter runs parallel with Kings, which it closely follows, only adding a few touches.
Adam Clarke's Commentary and Critical Notes on the Bible
Jehoshaphat had riches and honor - The preceding chapter gives ample proof of this.
Joined affinity with Ahab - Took his daughter Athalia to be wife to his son Joram.
Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance,.... Still more and more, see 2 Chronicles 17:5, and which moved Ahab to desire friendship and affinity with him, to which Jehoshaphat agreed:
and joined affinity with Ahab; king of Israel, married his son Joram to Athaliah, a daughter of Ahab by Jezebel of Zidon; which marriage proved of bad consequence to Jehoshaphat and his family.
Jehoshaphat, joined in affinity with Ahab, is persuaded to go with him against Ramoth-gilead, 2 Chronicles 18:1-3. Ahab, seduced by false prophets, according to the word of Micaiah, is slain there, 2 Chronicles 18:4-34.
For Jehoram, his eldest son, married Athaliah, Ahab’s daughter, 2 Chronicles 21:6 2 Kings 8:18. This chapter is for substance the same with 1 Kings 22, where it is explained.
The story of this chapter we had just as it is here related in the story of the reign of Ahab king of Israel, 2Ki 22:41-50 There it looks more creditable to Ahab than any thing else recorded of him that he was in league with so good a man as Jehoshaphat; here it is a great blemish in the reign of Jehoshaphat that he thus connected himself with so bad a man as Ahab. Here is, I. The alliance he contracted himself with Ahab, 2Ch 18:1. II. His consent to join with him in his expedition for the recovery of Ramoth-Gilead out of the hands of the Syrians, 2Ch 18:2,3. III. Their consulting with the prophets, false and true, before they went, 2Ch 18:4-27. IV. The success of their expedition. Jehoshaphat hardly escaped (2Ch 18:28-32) and Ahab received his death's wound, 2Ch 18:33,34.
