2절. “낯을 보아 주다”는 문자적으로 “얼굴을 들어 올리다”이다. 이는 낙담에서 일으키거나, 공로와 관계없이 호의와 교제에 받아들이는 것을 뜻한다(레위기 19:15; 잠언 18:5).

시편 82:1-8. 큰 재판장 앞에서 땅의 재판관들이 책망과 권면과 위협을 받는다. 1절. “회중”(출애굽기 12:3; 16:1 비교). “강한 자의”는 하나님께 속한, 곧 그의 임명을 받은 자들이라는 뜻이다. “신들”은 “재판관들”(출애굽기 21:6; 22:9), 곧 하나님의 대표자들이다.
