場景 1 요한복음 4:1-6

The Samaritan Road and Jacob's Well

Jesus left Judea and passed through Samaria on his way to Galilee.

Near a town called Sychar, there was Jacob's well.

After a long walk, Jesus sat beside the well.

The disciples went into the town to buy food.

At that quiet well, Jesus met a woman.

Jesus Asked for Water

Then a Samaritan woman came to draw water.

Jesus spoke to her first.

People like them did not usually come close to one another, but Jesus opened a conversation.

He began to speak about God's gift and living water.

The woman wondered what kind of water Jesus meant.

場景 3 요한복음 4:11-15

The Woman Asked for Living Water

The woman said the well was deep and Jesus had no jar to draw water.

Jesus spoke about water of life, different from the water in the well.

A person who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but the water Jesus gives leads to life.

The woman did not yet understand everything, but she asked for that water.

But Jesus knew not only her thirst, but also her life.

The One Who Knew Her Life

Jesus already knew the woman's life.

The woman realized that her life was known before Jesus.

Jesus was not speaking to condemn her, but was calling her toward truth.

She began to sense that Jesus had come from God.

So the woman asked Jesus about worship.

True Worship

The woman asked where people should worship.

Samaritans and Jews thought differently about the place of worship.

Jesus said that true worship is given to God in spirit and truth.

God is pleased with a true heart turned toward him more than with a place.

In that conversation, Jesus clearly told her who he is.

Leaving the Water Jar for the Town

The woman said that when the Messiah came, he would tell everything.

Jesus told her that he was the one.

The woman left her water jar and went into the town.

She told the people about Jesus, whom she had met.

After hearing her story, people from the town began to come to Jesus.

Food and Harvest

The disciples asked Jesus to eat.

Jesus said that doing the work God gave him was his food.

Then he told them to look at the fields.

People from the town were coming to Jesus.

Now the Samaritans would hear Jesus' words for themselves.

The People Met the Savior of the World

The Samaritans heard the woman's words and came to Jesus.

They asked Jesus to stay with them.

After hearing Jesus' words for themselves, many more believed.

They came to know that Jesus truly is the Savior of the world.

After the meeting in Samaria, Jesus went back to Galilee.

Returning to Galilee

Two days later, Jesus left Samaria and went to Galilee.

The Galileans welcomed Jesus.

They had seen what Jesus did in Jerusalem.

The story returns to Cana.

There, a father came to Jesus for his sick son.

The Official Pleaded for His Son

In Cana, a royal official came to Jesus.

His son was very sick in Capernaum.

He begged Jesus to heal his child.

Jesus said that his son would live, and the man believed the word and went back.

The man had not yet seen it with his eyes, but he trusted Jesus' word and went on his way.

Life Received by Trusting the Word

On the way home, the man's servants came running to him.

They told him that his son was alive.

The time was the same time when Jesus had said that his son would live.

So the man and his whole household believed in Jesus.

John chapter 4 ends by showing that Jesus' word gives life.
