Escena 1 창세기 2:1-3

The Seventh Day: God Rested

God had finished making the heavens, the earth, and everything in them.

After working for six days, God rested on the seventh day from all he had done.

God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. Rest is a good gift from God.

Now let us hear more about how God made the first person.

Escena 2 창세기 2:4-7

God Formed the First Man

God formed a man from the dust of the ground.

Then he breathed the breath of life into his nose.

And the man became a living being. Our life comes from God.

Where would God have this man live?

Escena 3 창세기 2:8-14

The Garden of Eden

God planted a beautiful garden in the east called Eden, and he put the man there.

In the garden grew all kinds of trees, beautiful to see and good for food.

A river watered the garden and divided into four streams. God gave the man many good things.

In the middle of that garden were two special trees.

Escena 4 창세기 2:9

Two Trees in the Middle of the Garden

In the middle of the garden were two special trees.

One was the tree of life, and the other was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Those trees helped the man remember God's gift of life and the way of trusting God's word.

Then God gave the man the garden to care for and spoke an important word.

Escena 5 창세기 2:15-17

Keep the Garden, but One Tree

God put the man in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

God said the man could freely eat from every tree in the garden.

But he must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This was a loving promise to keep the man safe.

But God saw one thing that was not good yet. What was it?

Escena 6 창세기 2:18-20

Not Good to Be Alone

God said it was not good for the man to be alone.

God brought the animals of the field and the birds of the sky to the man, and he gave each one a name.

But among them there was no helper just right for the man. God was preparing something better.

What good gift did God prepare for the man?

Escena 7 창세기 2:21-25

God Made the Woman

God made the man fall into a deep sleep and formed a woman from one of his ribs.

When God brought the woman to the man, he was very glad.

So the man and the woman loved each other and became one family, one flesh. They felt safe, without shame.

The world God made was very good. The story continues next time.
