Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the Bible study and learning service provided by scripture.how (the "Service"), and the rights and obligations of users and the Service.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "User" means a member or non-member who uses the Service under these Terms.
- "Member" means a user who has registered an account.
- "Content" means the Bible text, translations, commentaries, original-language data, dictionaries, and learning materials provided by the Service, as well as user-created content such as Bible notes.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment)
These Terms take effect when posted on the Service. The Service may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law and will give prior notice of any changes.
Article 4 (Use of the Service)
1. Core features of the Service may be provided free of charge.
2. Some features (e.g., a content API) may be offered for a fee under separately announced conditions.
3. Acquiring and redistributing content is governed by the Content Use & Sharing Rules (/content-use).
Article 5 (User Obligations)
Users must not:
- Misappropriate others' information or interfere with operation of the Service.
- Collect or redistribute content without authorization in violation of the Content Use & Sharing Rules.
- Act in violation of law or public order and morals.
Article 6 (Content and Intellectual Property)
1. Rights in content provided by the Service follow each source and license (see [Sources / Licenses]).
2. Rights in user-created content (e.g., Bible notes) belong to the author; the Service may use it to the extent necessary to operate and display the Service.
Article 7 (Paid Services and Refunds)
Payment and refund terms for paid services are set out in a separate policy. [Confirm: finalize payment/refund policy at launch]
Article 8 (Limitation of Liability)
The Service is not liable for damages caused by force majeure or by the user's fault, and liability for free services is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Article 9 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
