Scena 1 창세기 14:1-9

Kings Went Out to War

Many kings around the land went out against one another.

War may seem far away, but families and ordinary people were frightened.

Soon Lot would be caught in danger because of this conflict.

As a result, Sodom and Gomorrah were defeated, and Lot was taken away.

Scena 2 창세기 14:10-12

Lot Was Taken Away

The victorious kings took goods and food from Sodom and Gomorrah.

Lot, who lived near Sodom, was also taken away.

But God did not forget Lot and opened a way for rescue.

A man who escaped ran to Abram and told him what happened to Lot.

Scena 3 창세기 14:13-16

Abram Went to Rescue Lot

A man who escaped told Abram that Lot had been taken.

Abram went with trained men from his household to rescue Lot.

Abram brought back Lot, the people, and the goods that had been taken.

When Abram returned with Lot, the king of Sodom came out to meet him.

The Kings Came Out to Meet Abram

Abram returned with Lot and the people who had been taken.

The king of Sodom came out to meet Abram.

Then Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God, also came out to him.

Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine and blessed Abram.

Scena 5 창세기 14:18-20

Melchizedek Blessed Abram

Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine.

Melchizedek was priest of God Most High.

He blessed Abram and praised God for giving victory.

Then the king of Sodom told Abram to return the people and keep the goods.

Scena 6 창세기 14:21-24

Abram Refused the Spoils

The king of Sodom told Abram to return the people and keep the goods.

But Abram said he would not take even a thread or sandal strap.

Abram valued God's name more than wealth.

In the next chapter, God tells fearful Abram, "I am your shield and your very great reward."
