Financial Support

This is a free Bible reading platform that I build alone — from development to operation — while writing the Bible notes myself. The running and content-creation costs are currently all covered out of my own pocket. Financial support will first be used for licensing official Bible translations for web use and for content production costs. Once a stable foundation is in place to continue operating and authoring, I would like to spend more time on creating Bible notes and related authoring work.

Why Support

The first use of support is preparing official translations

Support is the foundation for keeping this site going. The first thing I want to use it for is preparing official translations that require permission and fees — such as the Revised Korean Version (개역개정) and the New Korean Translation (새번역) — so they can be used on the website.

01

Official translation licenses

The license fee to use an official Bible translation on the website is about 1 million KRW per year for each translation. When enough support is gathered, I plan to prepare first so that translations requiring permission and fees can be offered officially.

02

Features I build myself

Features such as the Bible reading screen, the Bible-note authoring tools, and the original-language, cross-reference, and commentary connections are things I keep building and refining myself. The costs involved are currently covered out of my own pocket, so financial support directly helps with this part.

03

Bible notes I write myself

The Bible notes are the first reason I started this site, and the hardest work across the whole site. Before being an operator I am a Bible teacher, and I write them verse by verse with all my heart, as a legacy to leave for my children.

Note

About official translations

The Korean Revised Version (개역한글) currently offered as the main text is not an inferior translation compared to the Revised Korean Version (개역개정). The two are close in their overall flow, each with its own strengths and weaknesses in wording. Still, the expectations of readers who want the translation widely adopted in actual churches cannot be ignored, so preparing official translations is set as the first use of support. When more Korean translations are added, much of the work now in progress with the Korean Revised Version — including Bible notes and original-language/translation alignment — will have to be redone from scratch for the new translations, but I will take that on myself.

Free First

Most features stay open regardless of support

Support is not a payment that locks and unlocks features. Even without supporting, you can use most features and resources — including Bible reading — just as they are, and supporters are those who stand alongside to help this work continue.

How

Prepared in a low-burden way

For support channels I am preparing both recurring and one-time giving. When support is gathered it will first be used to prepare official translations, and I want to keep it as light and easy to verify as possible.

Spreading the word and making introductions is also great support

Support does not have to be money. Everyday sharing — telling others about this site on blogs, chat rooms, and boards — and introducing churches, organizations, publishers, and educational institutions that need the same kind of Bible platform are all great support.

Together

Because there are readers, I keep building

It is time spent building alone, but knowing there are people reading keeps me holding on to this work. Support is a great help in carrying that time a little longer. Whether by spreading the word, giving financially, or connecting it to where it is needed — anyone who supports in any way is a fellow worker who builds this site together.
