For a long time I felt the lack of the Bible site I wanted. I kept thinking that someday I should build a Bible site with the structure, flow, and character I had in mind.

Because I regard Bible study as a lifelong ministry, I needed good tools for that work. I needed a site where reading Scripture, studying it, and writing about it could belong to one continuous flow.

A good tool helps a teacher prepare teaching content, and it also helps a student learn from the lessons and materials that are prepared.

In my mind I had a rough picture of the features that would be needed. That picture goes beyond an ordinary Bible reading site, and the goal is larger than it may look at first. That is why building it felt too broad to begin for a long time.

But if I kept delaying it, the content I had already made would later have to be moved and reorganized again. So I made up my mind to begin the design and build, and I am still pouring long-held thoughts and real effort into it one step at a time.

I want to build the foundation first, then add things one by one

There are still many ideas I want to add. But everything cannot be finished at once, so I believe the first task is to make the Bible reading flow and resource structure solid.

Once that foundation is in place, the needed features and content can be attached one by one. This site is still at the beginning of that long process.

We offer a trusted range of Bible translations

Through a formal licensing agreement with the Korean Bible Society, we provide three Korean translations: 개역개정, 새번역, and 공동번역 개정판. We have also added 표준킹제임스성경, 킹제임스 근본역, 쉬운말 성경, and 현대어 성경, so readers can choose and compare translations according to their purpose and preference.

We will continue building a richer and more reliable Bible reading environment while respecting the copyright and terms of use for every translation.

We are bringing diverse Bible translations, original-language resources, commentaries, dictionaries, Bible Notes, QT, and study tools together in one connected reading experience.

Our aim is to create a place where anyone can read and study the Bible deeply without cost, and to grow scripture.how from Korea into the world’s most loved free Bible reading site.

This is not simply a software project. For me, it is the work of building a tool that can support Bible study ministry over the long term. That is why I want to proceed carefully, but without stopping.

There is still much that is lacking, but I would be grateful for your prayers and encouragement. I hope this site becomes a practical help for reading, studying, and sharing the Word.

I do not know how far this will go, but I will keep building carefully from the foundation toward the larger goal.

Operating Philosophy

The operating philosophy of scripture.how

scripture.how is a site I operate, so it will be guided by the operating philosophy and standards I hold. In the early stage, I plan to limit some member-to-member community features and prioritize a calm flow for reading Scripture and resources.

The core Advanced Notes feature may have public-facing functions, but at first only Yohan Advanced Notes and notes from a small number of approved authors will be publicly shown. Personal Advanced Notes can be used freely, but notes exposed to other readers will be handled carefully.

An active community can make a site look rich, but I also know that communities around Scripture and religion do not always develop in a healthy direction. So within scripture.how, I want to prioritize selected materials and approved notes over a space where everyone promotes their own viewpoint.

Even if boards for member communication are added, there may be moderation by the operator, and if necessary those boards may be closed or removed.

If someone wants to actively promote their own biblical viewpoint, I think it is better for them to run their own site under their own operating philosophy. I also want to make a path for others to build and operate their own Bible platforms on their own domains. Readers can then find the place that fits them.
