Bible text has a different license for each translation. scripture.how prioritizes translations that are public domain or available for public display and service, and does not arbitrarily include materials that require separate permission, such as modern translations, without verifying the rights. The license type and notes for each translation are managed in the system’s overall source list.

Hebrew and Greek original-language tokens, Strong’s numbers, morphology, and lexical information are managed by source license separately. For example, public-domain source information, CC BY materials, and CC BY-SA derivative materials may differ in attribution requirements and share-alike conditions, so even when shown on the same original-language screen, their data sources are recorded separately.

The Bible dictionary covers headword definitions, the meanings of names, related verses, and original-language links. Public-domain materials such as Easton’s Bible Dictionary (1897) may be used as source materials, while the Korean explanations that scripture.how directly translates, writes, and edits are managed separately from the original materials. The dictionary-specific source list is therefore kept on a separate page.

For historical commentaries such as Matthew Henry, we prioritize editions whose copyright term has expired and can be regarded as public domain. The original commentary and scripture.how’s Korean translation, paragraph organization, and verse mapping are managed separately, and commentary materials of uncertain origin go through a verification process before being published.

All Rights Reserved applies to Korean translations, definitions, summaries, Advanced Notes, and curated content that scripture.how directly translates, writes, or edits. When source material has its own license, that source license remains in force and does not replace the rights in scripture.how’s self-produced and edited content.

/about/sources is the page that explains the site-wide principles for using materials. By contrast, /bible/licenses is the overall list registered in the current system, and /bible/original-data-sources and /bible/dictionary/sources are detailed lists by material group. Merging everything into one page would mix the principles with the actual data lists, so the public guidance is linked while the pages are kept separate.
