Verse-linked, license-cleared data

scripture.how gathers visuals from museums and open collections, maps them to Bible passages verse by verse, and records each item's source and license. We deliver this dataset via API so other services can use it directly. The underlying images are mostly public assets — the value is in the verse mapping, the license clarity, and the standardized delivery.

Verse-level mapping

Get "the painting, illustration, or map that fits this passage" linked by verse range, querying many sources at once.

License clarity

Each item ships with its source, license, and attribution requirement, reducing the legal-review burden on your side.

Standardized delivery

A uniform format and metadata, with original images served from public-storage (CDN) URLs.
