한

거룩한 그리스도교 교회는 그 유일한 머리가 그리스도이시며, 하나님의 말씀에서 태어나 그 말씀 안에 머물고, 낯선 자의 목소리를 듣지 않는다.

The holy Christian Church, whose only Head is Christ, is born of the Word of God, and abides in the same, and listens not to the voice of a stranger.

한

그리스도의 교회는 하나님의 말씀 없이 법이나 계명을 만들지 않는다. 그러므로 인간의 전통은 하나님의 말씀에 근거를 둔 만큼만 우리를 매는 것이지 그 이상은 아니다.

The Church of Christ makes no laws and commandments without the Word of God. Hence human traditions are no more binding on us than they are founded in the Word of God.

그리스도는 온 세상의 죄를 위한 유일한 지혜요 의요 구속이요 보속이시다.

영

Christ is the only wisdom, righteousness, redemption, and satisfaction for the sins of the whole world.

그리스도의 몸과 피가 본질적으로 또 육체적으로 임재한다는 것은 성경에서 입증될 수 없다.

The essential and corporeal presence of the body and blood of Christ can not be demonstrated from the Holy Scripture.

그리스도가 산 자와 죽은 자의 죄를 위하여 하나님 아버지께 바쳐진다고 하는, 지금 시행되는 미사는 성경에 어긋나며, 그리스도의 가장 거룩한 제사와 고난과 죽음을 모독하는 것이고, 그 남용으로 말미암아 하나님 앞에서 가증한 것이다.

The mass as now in use, in which Christ is offered to God the Father for the sins of the living and the dead, is contrary to the Scripture, a blasphemy against the most holy sacrifice, passion, and death of Christ, and on account of its abuses an abomination before God.

그리스도께서 홀로 우리를 위하여 죽으셨으니, 그분은 또한 하나님 아버지와 믿는 자들 사이의 유일한 중보자요 변호자로 경배받으셔야 한다.

As Christ alone died for us, so he is also to be adored as the only Mediator and Advocate between God the Father and the believers.

성경은 이 생애 이후의 연옥에 관하여 아무것도 알지 못한다. 그러므로 죽은 자들을 위한 모든 미사와 그 밖의 예식은 무익하다.

Scripture knows nothing of a purgatory after this life. Hence all masses and other offices for the dead are useless.

형상에 대한 예배는 성경에 어긋난다. 그러므로 형상이 경배의 대상으로 세워질 때에는 마땅히 폐지되어야 한다.

The worship of images is contrary to the Scripture. Therefore images should be abolished when they are set up as objects of adoration.

혼인은 성경에서 어떤 신분의 사람에게도 금지되지 않으며, 모든 사람에게 허락되어 있다.

Matrimony is not forbidden in the Scripture to any class of men, but permitted to all.

성경에 따르면 공공연한 음행자는 마땅히 출교되어야 하므로, 부정한 행실과 더러운 독신 생활이 다른 어떤 신분보다 성직자에게 더 해롭다는 결론이 따른다.

Since, according to the Scripture, an open fornicator must be excommunicated, it follows that unchastity and impure celibacy are more pernicious to the clergy than to any other class.
