한

구원을 받고자 하는 사람은 무엇보다 먼저 보편 신앙을 굳게 붙들어야 합니다.

영

Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith.

한

누구든지 이 신앙을 온전하고 순결하게 지키지 않으면, 의심할 여지 없이 영원히 멸망할 것입니다.

영

Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.

한

보편 신앙은 이것이니, 곧 우리가 삼위 안에서 한 하나님을, 일체 안에서 삼위를 예배하는 것입니다.

영

And the catholic faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity;

한

위격들을 혼동하지도 않고, 본체를 나누지도 않습니다.

영

Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Substance.

한

아버지의 위격이 따로 있고, 아들의 위격이 따로 있으며, 성령의 위격이 따로 있기 때문입니다.

영

For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost.

한

그러나 아버지와 아들과 성령의 신성은 모두 하나이며, 영광이 동등하시고 위엄이 함께 영원하십니다.

영

But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one; the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal.

한

아버지가 그러하신 것처럼, 아들도 그러하시고, 성령도 그러하십니다.

영

Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost.

한

아버지도 지음받지 않으셨고, 아들도 지음받지 않으셨으며, 성령도 지음받지 않으셨습니다.

영

The Father uncreate, the Son uncreate, and the Holy Ghost uncreate.

한

아버지도 헤아릴 수 없으시고, 아들도 헤아릴 수 없으시며, 성령도 헤아릴 수 없으십니다.

영

The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Ghost incomprehensible.

한

아버지도 영원하시고, 아들도 영원하시며, 성령도 영원하십니다.

영

The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghost eternal.

11

한

그러나 세 영원하신 분이 아니라, 한 영원하신 분이십니다.

영

And yet they are not three eternals, but one eternal.

12

한

또한 헤아릴 수 없으신 세 분이나 지음받지 않으신 세 분이 아니라, 지음받지 않으신 한 분이요 헤아릴 수 없으신 한 분이십니다.

영

As also there are not three incomprehensibles, nor three uncreated; but one uncreated, and one incomprehensible.

한

마찬가지로 아버지도 전능하시고, 아들도 전능하시며, 성령도 전능하십니다.

영

So likewise the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty.

한

그러나 세 전능하신 분이 아니라, 한 전능하신 분이십니다.

영

And yet they are not three Almighties, but one Almighty.

15

한

그러므로 아버지도 하나님이시고, 아들도 하나님이시며, 성령도 하나님이십니다.

영

So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God.

16

한

그러나 세 하나님이 아니라, 한 하나님이십니다.

영

And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.

17

한

마찬가지로 아버지도 주님이시고, 아들도 주님이시며, 성령도 주님이십니다.

영

So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord.

18

한

그러나 세 주님이 아니라, 한 주님이십니다.

영

And yet not three Lords, but one Lord.

한

우리가 그리스도교의 진리에 따라 각 위격을 그 자체로 하나님이시요 주님이심을 인정하지 않을 수 없는 것처럼,

영

For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord;

한

보편 신앙은 우리가 세 하나님 또는 세 주님이 계시다고 말하는 것을 금합니다.

영

So are we forbidden by the catholic religion to say, There be three Gods, or three Lords.

한

아버지는 누구에게서도 지음받거나 창조되거나 나신 분이 아닙니다.

영

The Father is made of none, neither created, nor begotten.

22

한

아들은 오직 아버지에게서 나셨으니, 지음받거나 창조되지 않고 나셨습니다.

영

The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created, but begotten.

23

한

성령은 아버지와 아들에게서 나오시니, 지음받거나 창조되거나 나신 것이 아니라 나오십니다.

영

The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.

24

한

그러므로 한 아버지가 계시고 세 아버지가 아니며, 한 아들이 계시고 세 아들이 아니며, 한 성령이 계시고 세 성령이 아닙니다.

영

So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts.

한

이 삼위 가운데 누구도 먼저이거나 나중이 아니며, 누구도 더 크거나 더 작지 않습니다.

영

And in this Trinity none is afore, or after other; none is greater, or less than another;

26

한

오히려 세 위격 모두가 함께 영원하시며 함께 동등하십니다.

영

But the whole three Persons are coeternal together, and coequal.

27

한

그리하여 앞서 말한 대로 모든 일에서, 삼위 안의 일체와 일체 안의 삼위를 예배해야 합니다.

영

So that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.

한

그러므로 구원을 받고자 하는 사람은 삼위일체를 이렇게 믿어야 합니다.

영

He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.

한

더 나아가, 영원한 구원을 위하여 그는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 성육신도 바르게 믿어야 합니다.

영

Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

한

바른 신앙은 이것이니, 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도, 하나님의 아들이 하나님이시며 또한 사람이심을 믿고 고백하는 것입니다.

영

For the right faith is, that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man;

31

한

신성으로는 아버지의 본체에서 만세 전에 나셨고, 인성으로는 어머니의 본체에서 이 세상에 태어나셨습니다.

영

God, of the Substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and Man, of the Substance of his Mother, born in the world;

32

한

완전한 하나님이시요 완전한 사람이시며, 이성적 영혼과 인간의 육신으로 존재하십니다.

영

Perfect God, and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting;

33

한

신성으로는 아버지와 동등하시고, 인성으로는 아버지보다 낮으십니다.

영

Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead; and inferior to the Father, as touching his Manhood;

34

한

그분은 하나님이시며 사람이시지만, 두 분이 아니라 한 분 그리스도이십니다.

영

Who, although he be God and Man, yet he is not two, but one Christ;

35

한

한 분이시되, 신성이 육신으로 변한 것이 아니라 인성을 하나님 안으로 취하심으로 한 분이십니다.

영

One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking of the Manhood into God;

36

한

온전히 한 분이시되, 본체의 혼합이 아니라 위격의 연합으로 한 분이십니다.

영

One altogether; not by confusion of Substance, but by unity of Person.

37

한

이성적 영혼과 육신이 한 사람인 것처럼, 하나님과 사람이 한 그리스도이십니다.

영

For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ;

38

한

그분은 우리의 구원을 위하여 고난을 받으시고, 음부에 내려가셨으며, 사흘 만에 죽은 자들 가운데서 다시 살아나셨습니다.

영

Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead.

39

한

하늘에 오르시어 전능하신 하나님 아버지의 오른편에 앉아 계시며,

영

He ascended into heaven, he sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty;

40

한

거기로부터 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하러 오실 것입니다.

영

From whence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

41

한

그분이 오실 때에 모든 사람이 자기 몸으로 다시 살아나, 자기의 행위에 대하여 답변할 것입니다.

영

At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies, and shall give account for their own works.

42

한

선을 행한 사람들은 영원한 생명으로 들어가고, 악을 행한 사람들은 영원한 불 속으로 들어갈 것입니다.

영

And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting; and they that have done evil into everlasting fire.

43

한

이것이 보편 신앙이니, 누구든지 이를 신실하게 믿지 않으면 구원을 받을 수 없습니다.

영

This is the catholic faith; which except a man believe faithfully, he cannot be saved.
